Get to Know Me

TW: Coming on to this site means you understand there WILL be triggers! This is your one and ONLY warning!

Hello all. How are you all today? My name is Cindy Marie Snow-Pilcher, a 50-year-old USN veteran. I am married to the love of my life (I was 27 when I found him after my first marriage failed tremendously). I have 2 biological children, quite a few ‘adopted’ children, and 6 grandchildren. Not only that, but I also have 2 furbabies – a 5 yr old orange tabby named Boots (but we call him grumpy old man lol) and a 1 1/2 yr old Jack Russell named Valleri aka Gremlin, pain in the butt, little Goblin.

I started this blog because I have PTSD (only partly from military — had PTSD before going to the Navy), Anxiety, Depression, & OCD. I am a Rape survivor, a sexual assault survivor, a survivor of molestation, and a survivor of emotional, mental, physical, and sexual abuse. I want to write about my abuses, my rapes, and talk to others that have gone through the same things. I want others to know that they are not alone.

Also, to be honest, I am hoping that if I can help just one person with this blog, that it will help me as well. I spent from age 20 to 28 drinking away my pain, anger, and hurt. I met my second husband, stopped drinking, stopped clubbing, stopped smoking, but still didn’t deal with any of my issues. I continued to keep my issues shoved down and ignored them. After talking to others that have a lot of the same issues, the nightmares started coming back, my anxiety hit an all-time high, my depression has me down more than up, and the pandemic made things ten times worse.

I started therapy back at the beginning of September. I’ve only been a few times, as I go every two weeks right now. My therapist (who is AMAZING btw) wants me to write in my journal at least once a week, which I am going to do, but I feel by writing on this blog and trying to make a community will help me as well as others.

Sorry for the long post, but for those that read the whole thing, thank you for hanging in. I will open up more tomorrow. Tonight I will start adding things to the various sections I have but I hope you all follow along and join the conversation/share stories/make a community so we may all help each other through our own insanity and the crazy world we are in.

Strength and love, ~Miss Ivy~
